Greetings Fellow Tide Fans!!!
For those of you who by chance come here to read what my thoughts are about each game...and
you may be wondering.. "Where in the heck have you been?" well the answer is simple..superstition.. It's like this..I didn't post after the Bowl Game against Utah..and Bama went all the way in 2009....so I decided
to stay the course and not post after the BCS game..and hopefully that MoJo will work again in 2010. I had friends,
and non friends chide me for not posting after the Utes took care of the Tide.. saying I was ashamed ...etc...so I digress.
Suffice to say... 2009 was a great year.
I am very proud to say.. that I was among the privileged fans
who saw the Tide ROLL OVER THE LONGHORNS on the way to their 13th National Title. What an experience!! IT was my first trip to Los Angeles.. my first Trip to the Rose Bowl and my 2nd Opportunity to witness The Tide win
an National Title, and Im happy to say they are 2 for 2 when I attended. Was very fortunate to have my wife by my side
as Bama took the field and as they had done in every other game , Took Care of Business. No Heisman Jinx .... Ingram
ran like a thoroughbred... the Defense played typical Saban opportunistic, physical football and took advantage of turnovers...and
rolled to the final 37 - 21 victory.

REPEAT ?
Yes
it is a daunting task indeed to repeat as the Champion at any sport. But we all know it can be done. I have seen it
done during the Bryant years and I must say the opportunity for Bama is certainly there again, in my humble opinion.
Bama has a difficult schedule this year ..as did they last year, but this time there is a stretch that will be extremely difficult
with the likes of Penn State... not to mention the Gators at Tuscaloosa in the middle of road games between South Carolina
and Arkansas. Indeed it will be difficult, but the offense is loaded, and the defense, though young...very talented
and they have game experience. The chink in the armor (if one exists) is the secondary. Very young and very inexperienced
in spots. So all that being said...yes it will be difficult to repeat, but.. I think the odds are in Alabama's favor.
As the New Season Approaches

Media
Darlings -Coach Saban allowed cameras into his professional inner sanctum for a one-hour behind-the-scenes ESPN special filmed early in fall camp. Plus the documentary "GAME CHANGER" about the 2009 season premiered
in theaters in 4 States Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee, this past week and weekend.
For the Coach and the Tide.. it's
free publicity and a great recruiting tool.. with minimal time taken away from the normal activities... OH and did I mention
the ESPN - Home Depot commerical with he and Mack Brown? Yep.. more publicity.

WEEK
1 San Jose State
Fans attending this game will own the dubious distinction of being part of the Largest Crowd
Ever..to see The Crimson Tide play a game in Tuscaloosa. Expansion at the Stadium is complete and Tide Fans are expected
to exceed the one hundred thousand mark, with the capacity of just over 101 thousand ... I can just hear Rammer Jammer with
that many singing
2009 San Jose
State record: 2-10, 1-7 WAC. The Spartans tied for eighth place in the Western Athletic Conference.
Of
course this is a typical first game, if you look across the spectrum of games on Saturday you will see match ups like this
everywhere...but for Bama this is a non-typical starter, after begining the past two years with Va Tech and Clemson.. so the
excitement that has been there for the opener the past two years won't be there, but it shouldn't be a factor in this one.
Bama will use this as a warm up for next weeks Top 20 opponent Penn State.
I feel confident in this pick..of
course I am coming off a 14 -0 streak from last year :)
Bama will handle the Spartans to the tune of 48-13. Giving
the youngsters an opportunity to play.
Roll Tide and See you next week.
